Philippe Castaing holds a PhD in Polymer Material Sciences from INP Toulouse. He then worked at CETIM in France for 23 years. He now works as Project Manager in charge of Composites Development in the Aerospace Industry: he is in charge of the development of partnerships in Research and Development, and Business Services Development, in the frame of the Carnot Institutes (Aerospace sector AIRCAR, Composite manufacturing sector IMP). He also works on developing Business about Composite Materials in Aerospace/Automotive Industries, with a particular focus on Asia/Pacific; this involves the promotion of innovative manufacturing processes (Thermoplastic Composites) and the Support to reach regulation for polymers. He also managed numerous high-level projects such as REI DGA, ANR+Fraunhofer, Cleansky, ESA, ADS R&T, IRT Ecosam projects, etc.
