This project aims at accelerating the transition of the Walloon aircraft industry with an extensive use of composite materials in aircraft instead of metallic materials. Composite materials enable indeed to reduce the weight of aircraft (and thus their consumption), to increase the mechanical performance of structures (and thus their durability) and to reduce the ecological impact (noise, pollution, etc.).
The technologies to be worked out will allow the development of aircraft structures (thanks to the RTM & FP, ATL and RFI technologies) and engine components (using the SFI and Prepreg Hand Lay Up technologies).
